Every year Members are invited to nominate charities for the Club Charity.  By due process of elimination and presentations by the Charities the Management Committee elect a charity for the year.

The Club always makes its best endeavours to support worthy local charities or charities which are beneficial to the residents of Bristol.

Special Charity Evenings and Charity Events are organised throughout the year which are well supported by Club Members with all proceeds going to the Charity.

Since 1994 Club Members have raised a total of  £26198.09 for charities.  For full details of previous Club Charities and the donations made to each Charity click the following link

The Club Charity for 2014/15 was  “KINGSWESTON SCHOOL”

Kingsweston is an above average sized special school primarily serving Bristol pupils. They cater for children and young people with a wide range of needs, including Asperger’s and Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties and complex needs. All of their pupils have a statement of special educational needs.

They have a number of key partners with whom they work to make the best provision they can. Four of our five sites are co-located with mainstream schools – Sea Mills Primary School, Shirehampton Primary School, Oasis Academy Brightstowe (secondary) and the Ashley Down site of the City of Bristol College. They also have a base at Napier Miles Road. These partnerships enable them to make meaningful links between mainstream contexts and their specialist environments that enrich the provision on offer to everyone and support the challenge and, as appropriate, the range of accreditation opportunities available to their pupils.

Kingsweston is home to a large Inclusion Support Team. This team works in a co-ordinated way and in partnership with the school to ensure that the holistic needs of all pupils are supported. These services are integral to their planning of provision and the delivery of a wide ranging service to children, young people and their families, particularly when support is needed through difficult and challenging times.

The funds raised by charity donations are used to support extra curriculum activities such as:

After School Clubs, Holiday Clubs, Residential trips, Curriculum linked activities and trips, School Events and New Equipment for the School.
